Types of MLM Leads

When learning about a new subject, it's sometimes helpful to begin with a high-level view or overview. This may be particularly helpful when one is trying to pick out the right type of lead when one has a particular application or need in mind. Searching for the perfect lead

Having been in the lead business for quite some time, it's been easy to observe that some marketers are obsessed with finding perfect leads.

Here's a newsflash for you. There is no such thing as perfect leads or a perfect batch of leads or a perfect lead source. This really shouldn't be a surprising statement and won't be to more seasoned marketers but new marketers are often operating under a set of false assumptions.

Lead sources do try to make sure lead contact information is accurate but mistakes happen when information is entered and sometimes the contact information may not be accurate for a variety of reasons. The reason for this is simple - that leads aren't perfect because you are dealing with people and people are not always predictable and are not perfect.

People make mistakes in the way of typos. Also, some people will not provide 100% accurate information when they request information online. The reasons for this will vary. For example, if someone prefers to be contacted by phone, they might not provide a good email address and the reverse is true. The good news is that most leads will contain valid information and some of the mistakes will be fixed along the way before a lead is distributed.

Rather than spending time looking for perfect leads, marketers might be better served by finding a lead source that will work with them. In short, you might be better served by finding a lead source that will help you fine-tune what will work for you and sometimes it may take a few tries to get the right combination of leads and lead factors that will work for you. In other words, you may come out ahead by establishing a good working relationship with your lead source rather than constantly looking around for the 'prefect' lead..
